“The property was lovely.”

On a great quiet street close to the car park. Incredibly well equipped for a week’s stay. More spacious than it appears on the photos. Fitted three of our family and a grandparent and felt we could all have our own space. Only minuses were no one left us the WiFi code but that was resolved after a phone call. And it was a bit chilly and there were no instructions on how to get the heating to work ( for upstairs particularly). But the underfloor heating downstairs was great and the dogs loved ...

“We love this cottage with the river at the bottom of the garden.”

It's very peaceful and on rainy days (we had a few) the conservatory is a useful space. All was in good order...It might just be useful to have a page in the welcome pack with the internet password, places locally to buy wood etc

“Hi The extractor fan for the upstairs bathroom was on constantly which was very disturbing in the night.”

We managed to depress the switch and that sorted it. But we shouldn’t have to do that. That bathroom was also incredibly cold. The radiator didn’t seem to work. There are only 6 mugs that are usable, forcing us to use the dishwasher to much. There should be a few more mugs in a house that sleeps potentially 7. But other than that we had a really good trip. The garden is perfect.

“This was an ideal location from which to see the sights of Lyme Regis and surrounding area.”

Located towards the lower part of the town, it was possible to avoid many of the steep hills and the walk to and from the seafront was a pleasant five minute stroll. There were many amenities within two or three minutes walk including Two Restaurants, Fish and Chip take away (highly recommended), Mill Shop, Micro Brewery, Gallery and Local Pub. The property had very generous accommodation and had all the facilities required. The welcome pack was a particularly nice touch on arrival. The rear garden overlooks the River Lym which gurgles cheerfully along accompanied by birdsong from the backdrop of trees which make the garden such a pleasant place to take breakfast or simply relax with a book. If the weather wasn't great, the small sun-room was an equally pleasant room in which to unwind. All in all, a super house in a great location. Thoroughly recommended.

“Absolutely perfect cottage!”

The location was fabulous and the garden with stream and fairy lights was idyllic. The cottage is really tastefully furnished, comfortable and clean. Everything we could need had been thought of. I would say this is the nicest cottage, for location, garden and interiors that we have ever stayed in. It was magical! The top bedroom bed did keep breaking, the boards kept coming off the frame, I think it just needs another board across….but it just added to the adventure!

The property

This delightful cottage is situated in the much sought after heart of old Lyme Regis is just 5 minutes walk from the seafront with its beaches and the superb choice of restaurants, pubs and independent shops. Refurbished to a very high standard the property has been sympathetically modernised whilst retaining its original charm and features including an open fireplace with wood-burning stove. A wonderful feature of this fabulous cottage is the garden which has at the bottom a raised seating area above the River Lym. Perfect for sitting and enjoying some alfresco dining or enjoying a glass of wine. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. The family friendly beaches are easily accessible from this property where you try your hand at some of the water sports on offer or a spot of fossil hunting amongst the rocks on the shores for fascinating creatures preserved in the rocks. The town itself offers great family activities including an aquarium and two museums, or for keen walkers, head further afield to visit Golden Cap or the pretty seaside villages dotted along the South West coastal footpath on this scenic stretch of the Jurassic Coast. This is an excellent cottage from which to enjoy a traditional, relaxing, seaside holiday.
