However the issue is the furnishings, beds and bedding excepted. Everything else in the property is a mish mash of items collected from second hand shops , junk shops and maybe local auctions. The owners are proud of this as indicated in the house book. To give 2 examples , the furniture is very uncomfortable , this is the reason that the sofa had been moved on and crockery and cutlery are what your parents or grandparents would have discarded decades ago.
All of this is fine in that owners can furnish a property as they want. However if they then choose to rent their property out they need to understand that not everyone will share their approach.
How Sykes can describe it as excellent is beyond me.
We have been going to holiday lets half a dozen times a year for a number of years and have never encountered anything like this.

Many of the items in the apartment were purchased from Lyme's great local gallery's, shops and craftsmen. We used inspiration from these local traders, our travels and stays in unique properties to create a uniquely stylish property. It is intentionally eclectic with the aim to be comfortable and inviting for all seasons of Lyme. I am sorry it wasn’t what you expected, we will use your feedback to improve our offering for future guests.
