“WARNING, please do not book this property as it is not fit for purpose, not only is it very run down it is also a health hazard as the back bedroom can not be used because the wall is covered in black and green hairy mould due to the outside guttering missing the downpipe.”
The water just soaks into the wall, the owners were told about this problem in a Sept '23 review by John but have done nothing to repair it so the back bedroom is not useable. It is also worth noting that the window in this bedroom is supposed to be a fire escape window with a wider opening, it is not, a child could get through but not an adult.
On arrival I had to hoover all the rooms due to cobwebs and spiders, also there was an abundance of dead and live woodlice in the two front bedrooms. The dining chairs were covered in food and sweet wrappers, litter under the sofa and bedside tables. All the walls have a damp problem, if you touch the paint it just comes away in places. The stairs which you are warned are very steep have carpets that are coming away from the gripper rods. No baking trays and a frying pan that doesn't work on an induction hob. You can't watch tv as the signal is too poor, due to the fact that it doesn't have an aerial. You can't use the log burner as there are no instructions.
No shaver socket so bring an adapter if you need it.
Shame a lovely setting let down by owners who seem to have just not bothered to upkeep the property. Looking at past visitors books they used to provide welcome packs for guests, that is very much a thing of the past, they can't even maintain their cottage to an acceptable level.
