    “We seriously loved it.”

The boys loved exploring the area and fossil hunting. Our labrador thought this was the best place ever. The local was amazing. Although only 3 nights felt like a really getaway. We will be back.

The property

Riverbank is a delightful cottage overlooking the River Cory and beautiful Devonshire countryside beyond. Retaining many characterful features of a property of this age, Riverbank has been updated to provide a relaxing, well-equipped holiday cottage in the most tranquil of locations. Step up into the inviting sitting room, which has a feature fireplace with woodburning stove and enjoys views to the front of the cottage over the garden and river beyond. A spacious dining room provides a great spot to share mealtimes together with a newly-fitted and well equipped galley kitchen at the rear of the property. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double and two twin rooms all with views over the adjoining fields. A spacious bathroom is located on the ground floor and has a bath with a shower over. The cottage is approached via a private gravelled driveway with parking for one car next to the cottage. Across the drive, the garden is enclosed by a stone wall and gate. A picnic bench provides the ideal spot to sit whilst overlooking the river with a glass of a chilled beverage or perhaps some dining alfresco. Care will need to be taken with pets and children due to the proximity with the river and livestock in the adjoining fields. Millwater Cottages

Located in the pretty village of Dalwood, Millwater Cottage and Riverbank are two adjoining, three-bedroom cottages dating back to 1849 beside the River Cory and surrounded by the Devonshire countryside. Take a stroll into the village and you will find a community run, well-stocked village shop, and Post Office, along with a 12th-century thatched inn, The Tuckers Arms, where a warm welcome, locally-sourced food and beverages await. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, between two ridges of the Blackdown Hills, the area has an abundance of rural charm with local walks and attractions waiting to be explored. Dalwood has its own vineyard, renowned for its award-winning sparkling and white wines, and open to the public for tours and tasting. For garden lovers, the Burrow Farm Gardens, recently featured on Gardeners World, are a horticultural delight so why spend a day exploring the formal gardens, wild flower meadows and nursery before enjoying an afternoon cream tea. Further afield, the coastal town of Lyme Regis offers visitors a great selection of seaside activities from watersports and boat trips from the famous Cobb Harbour, or even just a leisurely stroll along the seafront before settling down for a meal at one of the many eateries. A tram ride from nearby Seaton takes you along the River Axe estuary to the market town of Colyton. For nature lovers, the Seaton Wetlands Centre has nearly 4km of level trails and boardwalk through beautiful marshland and reed beds alongside the River Axe, which is home to an abundance of wildlife. The coast is also dotted with pretty villages, including Branscombe and the fishing village of Beer, where you can explore the local galleries or watch the fishermen haul their daily catch onto the beach. The Jurassic Coast is a diverse stretch of dramatic coastline with walks along the South West coastal footpath, taking in sites including Golden Cap, rewarding walkers with far reaching and stunning coastal views.
