Pit Close

This is the 3rd year we have stayed at Pit Close, it is so quiet and relaxing, there is everything you need.

The views are glorious.

An excellent 'cottage', perhaps better described as a villa.

Everything worked well. Heathstock is off the beaten track and the only access to the villa is from single track roads, which was rather daunting. We coped and only encountered vehicles on two occasions. Does Sykes have a policy on whether potential problems with access should be mentioned? It is not realistic to expect owners to report problems that they can not remedy.

A stunning property.

Very spacious and comfortable. Everything you need to make you feel at home, and a wonderful welcome pack upon our arrival. The most beautiful views from the patio, and a wonderful array of animals in surrounding fields. We were also joined in the neighbouring field by the farm calves. So cute. The nearby roads are narrow, and do require a game of miss the potholes, but worth it when you arrive. Thank-you.

Really nice property with amazing views.

Well kitted out and also had children's toys which was a bonus. The only down side was the country roads leading to the property were uneven and had pot holes .

Lovely fully equipped home for a relaxing break away!

Very modern and clean. Everything is literally included, there was even games, puzzles etc for the kids (and grown ups!). Very peaceful and idyllic location.

What a wonderful hidden gem!

Beautiful home with scenic views, so comfortable and warm. Idyllic location, with walks from the doorstep and lovely villages nearby. One of the best holidays we have ever had, enjoyed by our mum and our dogs (who were living their best lives with all the amazing walks) Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at Pit Close over the Christmas and New Year period.

The house was perfect for our needs and had everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay; spacious, modern, clean, warm, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the rural, away-from-it-all feel, and the views surrounding the barn are spectacular. The highlight for us was the bright open plan living area, with the large bi-fold doors allowing floods of warm sunlight in the morning. The house was decorated for Christmas and what a lovely surprise it was to find a real tree! The owners kindly gifted festive treats for the children, as well as a welcome pack generously stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, crisps and mince pies! A car is a must to get around, with some of the roads in the surrounding area a little hairy. We also found that the WIFI in the barn could be a little sketchy at times. But we would highly recommend Pit Close for a relaxing and comfortable break and would love to return in the not too distant future!

The view is absolutely stunning, the property is too, lovely and spacious, immaculately clean and has everything we needed. Owners are great, very responsive and friendly. Didn’t want to come home!! Would most definitely recommend and return ❤️

Very well presented and clean barn conversion, with fantastic views and quite.

The property is very spacious and the grand children loved the space. Only niggle was the matress, could have been a little more comfortable, but that might be just me. Thanks for a lovley break.

Beautiful and spacious accommodation with wonderful views.

The accommodation is a beautiful secluded place overlooking the most stunning scenery.

When the bifold doors are fully open you feel you are part of it. The house is spacious, immaculate, well equipped and comfortable. The underfloor heating makes it snug in the while property. It truly was an incredible find and we would love to return. For anyone booking, remember to use what three words as it's slightly beyond where the postcode takes you to. One of the best places we've stayed.

The property was lovely and very spacious with everything we needed.

lots of windows making it really light, with bifolding doors on to the enclosed patio. The views were stunning. We had a very peaceful stay, the property was ideal.

Pitclose is an exceptional holiday let!

We were a three generation family plus hound and the fact that it’s all on one level made the stay very easy. Our grandson has no concept of danger and I use a walking stick. So the fact there are no stairs made it stress free. Everything is there and all we needed to request was an iron and board which we received very quickly. The views are wonderful and our stay was relaxing. A walk-in shower was perfect. (The slider rail for the shower head has been fitted at the wrong height!) This is a beautiful and well thought out holiday home. Well done.

Pit Close is a well thought out modern barn conversion in a stunningly beautiful location.

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay and the only problem was that it was only a week. The open plan layout of the living area was ideal for three generations of our family and dog to enjoy. Bedrooms are spacious and the whole property was clean and well equipped.

The holiday was great.

The cottage was well equipped, spacious clean and warm with amazing views. The owners were friendly but not intrusive, and were quick to respond when we were unable to get a station of choice on the television. There were many welcoming gifts on our arrival, which included a lovely bottle of lemonade, crisps, our favourite Moores biscuits ( two packets) as well as milk sugar coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Thank you. We would definitely return.

Pit Close was comfortable, clean and so pleasant to stay in.

The house was decorated for Xmas which was a lovely touch and we were left milk, mince pies and plenty of hot chocolates sachets, sugar, coffee and teabags which was a lovely touch. The property is spacious, warm with the underfloor heating and if you are looking for somewhere that is quiet and relaxing this is your place. The roads to get to the property are extremely narrow country lanes which were not a problem for us as we never came across any cars luckily, If you are staying here just make sure you are stocked up with food etc as the nearest supermarket is in Axminster which takes extra time due to the narrow country lanes. There is a shop in the nearby village, we never went there but I’m sure it will be good for supplies of bread, milk etc. I could not fault this property and cannot wait to book it again in the summer months to take advantage of the bifold doors and patio area and amazing views.

everything we needed it was spotless and well appointed, with very helpful hosts.

A very lovely holiday home.

We did get a little chilly a couple of evenings, such a big room to heat up. Beautiful views over the valley. Lovely calfs and cows for neighbours. The pub we went to was very nice, not walking distance, as the same with the little shop which was also lovely. The roads are very narrow, in most places one car only. Which is why you don't want to be walking when it's dark even with a torch. Easy to reach the coast by car

Despite the variable weather, we had a great time.

We came prepared for rain but had a few really warm, dry days. The views are great from the property. We enjoyed the local walks and also the short run to the sea The property was warm, comfortable and a really smart place to stay.

Highly recommend, it's excellent for disabled, lots of room showers easy access.

The owners went above and beyond if we needed anything at all. The property is short of nothing. We wiiill most definitely return. Fantastic holiday.

Lovely hosts, sorted us out a high chair within less than 15 minutes. Remote location, very quiet and peaceful.

The Owners have done a lovely job of presenting the property as a holiday let and we welcomed their visit on the last night to ask for general feedback which we gave them.
