    The property is in a beautiful location and has all that you need for a great holiday. It is clean, modern and well equipped. We loved the little extras like the welcome pack (full of delicious local produce) and the cleaning pack. Our only small issue was that the ceiling lights, although attractive, were not very bright in the dining area and kitchen. I’m sure this would not be an issue in the summer but on dark October evenings extra lighting would have been helpful. Overall a fabulous ...

Located in the rural village of Uplyme, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the breath-taking Jurassic Coastline is The Stables, a contemporary four bedroomed barn conversion with high quality fixtures, fittings and beautiful personal touches. Enjoying countryside views whilst a short distance from a host of local amenities and attractions, this stunning property is ideal for both families and friends looking to enjoy all that this beautiful part of Dorset has to offer. The impressive spacious living area has high vaulted ceilings and beams with glass sliding doors opening onto decked seating area, making the most of the countryside views. The well-equipped kitchen is the ideal place for preparing meals for the group to gather and enjoy in the dining area, or perhaps for a spot of alfresco dining when the weather allows. With both a comfortable and spacious lounge area with Smart TV and a separate snug area for those wishing to sit quietly with a book, this really is a well thought out family home. Stepping down from the living area, guests will find four well-appointed bedrooms, all with the same vaulted ceilings and impressive beams. Choose from a king-size with en-suite shower room, two further king-size bedrooms with Jack-and-Jill access into a shower room, and a delightful twin. Situated on the Devon/Dorset border The Stables is within easy walking distance of Lyme Regis and offers the perfect location for exploring the stunning Jurassic Coast and all that it offers. The location makes it the perfect base for enjoying many of the local long-distance walking trails, with ready access to the striking Undercliff section of the South West Coast Path, and the East Devon Way taking in the impressive Cannington Viaduct. The village of Uplyme is a 10 minutes walk where you will find the Talbot Arms free-house, a village store and post office and sports fields with tennis courts. A convenient riverside walk follows the River Lym down to the sea at Lyme Regis where its sheltered south-facing beaches are safe for both children and water sport enthusiasts, with great fishing and leisure boat trips available from the famous Cobb harbour. For food lovers, stop off for a bite to eat at River Cottage HQ, offering delicious, themed events or even cookery courses, whilst Hix's Fish & Oyster House, and Robin Wylde lie within Lyme Regis itself. Take a trip to nearby Seaton, where you can follow nearly 4km of level trails and boardwalk at Seaton Wetlands, home to an abundance of wild birds or take a tram ride along the River Axe to the history market town of Colyton. The beautiful countryside surrounding the village of Uplyme, on the borders of Devon and Dorset, is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, criss-crossed by bridleways and footpaths including the East Devon Way, and providing perfect country walks and superb views. The area was chosen by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for his River Cottage HQ at Park Farm, where you can treat yourself to a great meal. Just a short drive takes you to the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This delightful historic seaside town boasts a maze of narrow streets, with an interesting array of shops and cafes, whilst the sandy beach lends itself to great bathing and watersports, and the bustling little harbour offers regular fishing trips, or try your hand at fossil hunting.
