“The bungalow was lovely and we had a lovely holiday .”

The only thing was the bins . Someone was putting their empty wine bottles in Byeways bins after the bin men had emptied them . We only had a bit of paper in the recycling bin , when I went to bring them in , the paper had gone but someone had filled it with wine bottles! After they had been emptied! We Don’t drink Wine ! !

We had a lovely stay in Byeways very comfortable and everything we needed, the summerhouse was nice but needs a bit of tlc as the door doesn’t close properly and also the door to the garden from lounge catches but otherwise a very lovely bungalow

“The bungalow was lovely, the area was lovely and quiet, the neighbours were very friendly, only disappointing point was the build up of dust in the living room when we arrived, there was no welcome pack, ie, tea, coffee, milk and sugar, good job we brought our own tassimo machine because the last thing you want to do after a four hour drive is find a shop.”

Other than that it was all good, information booklet was great, shame the previous occupants left glass bottles in the paper/ cardboard bin,

Thankyou for your feedback, always welcome and taken on board. I'm sorry to hear about your issues within the bungalow, which I will look at to future improve. “It would have been good to have the Dyson cleaner working it does not seem to charge and was previously mentioned weeks ago in the visitors book.”

Drive too steep for us to get the bin down.

“All good except tv remote poor.”

Replaced batteries but remote a bit worn out. Poor shower water pressure. Comfortable bed and seating and excellent kitchen. Very peaceful. Drive very steep and difficult to turn at the top. Excellent position for visiting area and Lyme Bay Winery just up the road which should be mentioned in the description. Pity no welcome pack, not even milk! Also no dishcloth or any instructions for appliances.

“Lovely bungalow in wonderfully quiet location.”

Took a while getting used to the layout (kitchen one end and lounge the other) but no probs. Loved the front and back gardens - great views from front. Would have liked another TV in either the kitchen or the main bedroom. Other than that we had everything we needed. Would fully recommend

“Lovely comfortable bungalow in a beautiful countryside setting.”

Could do with a little maintenance but was nothing that detracted from the holiday. For example bird table fencing etc. Would definitely visit again

The property

A delightful, detached bungalow, quietly situated in the beautiful Devon village of Whitford. Comfortable and cosy, the traditional interior offers spacious accommodation for couples or families. Whitford is located on the banks of the River Axe and the popular Devon village of Colyton is around a mile away where you can find a number of pubs, restaurants, cafes and specialist privately owned shops. A further couple of miles will take you to the seaside resorts of Beer and Seaton and their beaches on the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Surrounded by stunning countryside the property is a haven for wildlife and perfect for dog walkers and ramblers with an abundance of footpaths and bridleways on the doorstep. Seaton 2.8 miles; Lyme Regis 6.9 miles.

Situated in East Devon, Colyton is a small town with its roots dating back to 700 AD.
