    “We love this old, quirky 3 star cottage.”

    It suits us and our largish dog as we’re relatively fit and healthy. The cottage is central but quiet (no traffic!), cozy, comfy and well equipped. We’ve stayed there multiple times and will go back. However there is no parking close by and this, with the steps to the front door and the shallow stairs to the 1st floor make it unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems. You will also need to budget approx £100 to park for a week in the council run Holmbush car park in the summer ...

The property

Situated in one of the oldest and prettiest lanes in Lyme Regis, this period cottage provides an attractive and comfortable holiday home. The cottage retains many period features, including window seats and exposed beams. The age of the property does mean that some of the doorways have restricted height but the ceilings are not particularly low. Sherborne Lane is too narrow to allow through traffic and is therefore one of the quietest spots in the centre of town. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. A pretty cottage garden at the rear provides a private area for enjoying a glass of wine or soaking up the early evening sunshine. This property is only a few minutes walk from the shops and seafront. The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area.
