    “The location is beautiful.”

The house is great apart from a few minor issues. The space was as advertised. Great to have three toilets and two showers. Kitchen was very well equipped. The whole house was in perfect condition. The central heating and hot water were very good and there was an endless supply of wood and kindling to add extra atmosphere. The house is great apart from a few minor issues. The space was as advertised. Great to have three toilets and two showers. Kitchen was very well equipped. The whole house was in perfect condition. The central heating and hot water were very good and there was an endless supply of wood and kindling to add extra atmosphere. If the weather had been better we’d have made use of the large and beautiful garden. Parking was a bit tricky because it’s on a steep hill, but we got the knack. Not sure if the top drive is part of the house, so mainly used the one on same level as the house. My elderly parents feel the cold and have done mobility problems. They were able to get in and around the house with no difficulty and it was warm and comfortable for them. There was a very generous and tasty welcome pack. The only issues were: It was a squeeze for six adults in the lounge, not due to the size of the space but the choice of furniture: two overly large armchairs and a settee which was a squeeze for three medium adults. The downstairs toilet is prone to blocking: we didn’t put anything down it that you shouldn’t and there is a notice about the problem. So either solve the problem or tell guests they should only urinate in it.

About the location

MORCOMBELAKE

Bridport 2 miles. Lyme Regis 7 miles. West Bay 4 miles.

Morcombelake is a small village located on the A35 between Lyme Regis and Bridport, in touching distance of Golden Cap - the highest point on the south coast of England - and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Home to the famous 'Dorset Knob' biscuit, the village has a small store with post office and an excellent farm shop, Felicity's.

Nearby you will find the pretty seaside village of Seatown, with its excellent pub and great fossiling beach, which allows access to the walk along the coastal path, which affords spectacular views across the sparkling waters of Lyme Bay towards Portland, Chesil beach and the Dorset coast. A short drive east takes you to the ancient rope-making town of Bridport, and the harbour at West Bay, or venture west to visit the picturesque seaside resorts of Charmoith & Lyme Regis. An excellent holiday base from which to explore this scenic area.
