“This is a lovely property, with a great location.”

It was very comfortable for six people. I would not wish to be there with eight. It is certainly big enough for eight people, and would not feel over-crowded. However, you can only (just) fit six to eat at the kitchen/dining table, and the seating in the sitting room only just suits six people - you certainly couldn't get eight people relaxing to watch a film in there, for example. All it would take is a bigger kitchen/dining table, and an extra large sofa and it would be perfect for eight. The ...

All it would take is a bigger kitchen/dining table, and an extra large sofa and it would be perfect for eight. The listing is not accurate, in that none of the windows on the front open (so, that's three of the four bedrooms and the sitting room). I expect it's because of the (very efficient) secondary double-glazing as it is on the main road into Lyme, but we'd have preferred some noise, and the ability to open the windows. The dishwasher needs salt and rinse aid, which was not supplied. All that said, we would return. Everything else excellent - clean, comfortable, generally spacious and very close to beach and town.

The property

The Lymings is a four-bedroom apartment conveniently located in the heart of Lyme Regis where properties in this part of the old town date back to the 17th Century. A Grade II listed building, which was once part of the Old Vicarage for the Church opposite, this apartment retains many character features which highlight its age. Located above a restaurant and within easy reach of the town's amenities, the property is arranged over two floors. An internal staircase leads to the first floor where you will find a spacious kitchen/diner with exposed brickwork and ceiling beams. Two steps lead from here to a separate lounge with TV, plush seating and views to the front of the building. A twin bedroom and a shower room are also located on the first floor. Stairs lead to the second floor where you will find a large master king-size bedroom at the rear of the building, two further double bedrooms at the front and a family bathroom. Within easy walking distance of the town, the seafront and beaches, The Lymings is centrally located to enjoy all that this picturesque seaside town has to offer. Enjoy a meal at one of the popular seafront restaurants or a walk around the famous Cobb harbour. For avid walkers, the South West Coastal footpath offers breath-taking scenic walks and takes in landmarks such as Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast, as well as Charmouth and Seatown, both popular seaside locations. Please note: The age of the property does mean the stairs are steeper and narrower than modern homes and they may not be suitable for the very young, elderly or infirm.
