We were told the central heating in the building was not working the day before we travelled. Too late to make alternative arrangements. Owner offered £100 a night compensation until it was fixed. With little alternative we agreed and had two very cold days in the house. No compensation was subsequently paid. These rentals rely on mutual trust. You feel exploited when that trust is compromised.

I am sorry to read this review . Unfortunately the central heating oil supply had run out just before you arrived and I immediately arranged for an emergency delivery to rectify this . 5 electric heaters were provided that improved the situation in the bedrooms but the house was cold . £200 was refunded although it has taken Sykes a while to process the payment . They have assured me that this compensation has now been given .
